Have you laid out your 2020 goals for your real estate business yet?
We’re now into 2020, so it’s the perfect time to establish this year’s real estate goals. And part of that involves coming up with a marketing plan that will get you the results you’re looking for.
Today we’re offering you some tips for creating an action plan that will get the year started in the right direction!
Recalibrate Your Original Business Plan
It’s important to take a critical look at your business plan at the start of every year to determine what you may need to do to keep moving aggressively towards your goals.
The amount you were shooting for during your first year in business or even last year may not be appropriate for this year.
The most successful Realtors review and revise their business plans annually, and even more often if they’ve added any new services, expanded their farming areas or if there have been any major changes in competition. This is what we recommend for all agents.
Sit back and reflect on your achievements in 2019. Were you able to reach your goals? If not, what was standing in your way? What could you do differently this year to boost your momentum?
List the concrete steps that you would need to take to achieve your 2020 goals. This should be a very detailed outline of exactly how many contacts you’ll have to make to garner the number of new clients needed to make the GCI you’ve set for yourself.
Marketing Your Real Estate Services
What will you do differently this year to generate new leads? How can you do a better job of nurturing past clients, so they send referrals? Now would be a good time to reevaluate your marketing strategies. If you’re working with a tight budget, be very selective about where and how you spend your money on digital marketing.
Carefully select which social media platforms to be active on, whether direct mail gives you the kind of response you’re looking for and decide whether you’ve been wasting time and money on ineffective email and video campaigns. Update your real estate website so that it generates better quality organic traffic.
Reevaluate Your Customer Service
Do you have a plan for improving your customer service? If you have a reputation for providing excellent customer service, maybe nothing needs to change. But experience tells us that most Realtors could use some help in this area.
As in any business, customer satisfaction leads to referrals, which allows you to spend less time trying to generate leads. In trying to figure out how you can do a better job at customer service, you’ll need to identify where you could be dropping the ball. You might want to survey your clients after each closing telling them you’re seeking ways to improve your level of service and ask for suggestions. Due to the competitive nature of the real estate business, maintaining client satisfaction is an effort that goes well beyond the close. Most successful agents hold client appreciation events from time to time. If you aren’t doing this, 2020 would be a good year to start. We’re already well into the new year and in the blink of an eye, we’ll be heading into spring. Use these winter months to update your business plan so that you can reach your 2020 goals and beyond.
