The end of the year is fast approaching and how successful you’ll be in 2020 can largely depend on what you do in the next couple of months. There are 6 priorities to focus on if you want to be well prepared for success in the new year.
It’s important that you send the appropriate holiday greetings to those who contribute the most to your business. Adding your own personal touch is extremely important. Make a list of everyone who has contributed to your business one way or another. Include current and past clients, coworkers, service providers and vendors. Select the right gift for each, one that will convey a sincere “Thank You” for their loyalty. Write a personal note telling them how much you appreciate all they’ve done for you.
Update Your Technology
Updated tech tools are critical to your success. Do you have the right technology so you can hit the ground running in January? Was there some tool(s) you put off getting that you could now use? Make sure that the vendors you’re using see you as a partner and that they’re helping you implement the most innovative software and apps. You need to be ahead of the game to provide even better service to your clients.
Reevaluate Your Online Persona
Whether you realize it or not, you as a Realtor are a brand. It’s important that your brand reflects who you are, your values and the level of service you provide. Now is the perfect time to reevaluate your online persona. Review all your profiles on social media and decide whether you need to update your headshot and/or make other updates to reflect your current range of services and/or the industry. Read through your content to ensure everything aligns with your brand. Furthermore, you need to make sure your website is fully functional and highly responsive as many people now access the web on mobile devices. You have one chance to make a great first impression and that’s your website!
Prioritize Your Professional Development
What did you do this year to further your education? Think about what you can do in 2020 to continue your professional development. It’s incredible how much the right conference can inspire or how much one-on-one coaching can add to your success. Look around at the opportunities available and see how you can fit some into your 2020 schedule!
Reassess This Year’s Business Plan
In order to set the right goals for 2020 it’s important that you take a good look at how things have gone this year. Review your metrics from 2019. Whether you reached your goals or not, numbers don’t lie so what do they indicate about your performance? Do they reveal anything about your priorities? Take this information and use it to build a realistic action plan for 2020.
Your 2020 Business Plan
Once you have a good understanding of this year’s numbers and your overall performance, you can start putting your 2020 Business Plan together, one that covers all aspects. This would include advertising and marketing campaigns, sales metrics, investments in technology, potential hires and special events. Write out SMART goals for each and create realistic timelines so that you remain accountable.
